Deacon Ministry

Zion Hill's Deaconess ministry consist of women that are truly of an honest and good report. We thank God for these women who support this ministry in Jesus Name.

***Deaconess Prepared to Serve***

Ezekiel 36:24-28

For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.(36:24)

Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.(36:25)

A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.(36:26)

And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.(36:27)

And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.(36:28)

DECLARATION

The Ministry of Christ's Church is a ministry of inclusion, clergy and lay persons together. Each one has a part to play in serving the world and reconciling it to God. In order that the ministry might be more effective, God calls all people to serve him full time, and gives some special responsibilities for leadership.

Together, then, we are united as Pastor, Ministers, Deacons, Deaconess, and people in the ministry of the church. We pray that God will bless this ministry of the church. We pray that God will bless this ministry with His presence, leading us by his mercy into all truth and grace and peace. Amen!

Deaconess Charge:

These sisters have promised before God and this Congregation to fulfill their duties as Deaconess in the church.
Because these Deaconess must be woman of prayer and integrity; they have promised to be faithful, prayerful, and exemplary in their daily living.
These sisters have promised, so help them God, to do their best to live a Christian life; assist the Pastor in ministering to the needs of women of this local ministry; and be a good role model to our young women.

General Role:

I Timothy 3:11 and Titus 2:3-5

We are Christian Workers for God. Our ultimate goal is to please Him.

Help the poor.
No idle gossip, let it stop with you.
Act as role models (Dress, Attitude) for young women.
Provide Hospitality - Special Programs
Provide emotional support to single parents.
Counsel teenagers with issues such as teen pregnancy.
Maintain relationships and contact with new members.
Conduct new members fellowship quarterly.
Baptism - Provide assistance for female candidates.
Telephone ministry -Provide weekly contact and assistance to members (call, pray, convey Pastor's love, assist).
Communion preparation
Visits to bereaved families.
